Exploration & Potluck: February 18, 2018

The Elders Among Us

What makes someone an elder? It’s a word distinct from “senior” and even distant in meaning from “elderly.” To speak of “elders” carries a recognition of strength and wisdom. In a moment of much upheaval, a time of much uncertainty, what might we learn from cultures and communities that cultivate strong elder traditions and practices?

Come, join us on Sunday, February 18, 2018, as we seek wisdom by exploring what it means do be an elder in these times.

Kristen Psaki

Returning guest speaker, Kristen Psaki, is the ministerial intern at Jefferson Unitarian Church in Golden, CO. She has been a seeker of Wisdom and Justice her whole life. Finding a vocational home within Unitarian Universalism sits on the shoulders of a formative Christian childhood and an earnest adult search for the transcendent. Currently, she finds great spiritual nourishment in a frequent yoga and meditation practice as well as long, luscious hikes.

Meetings are held every 3rd Sunday of the month at 3737 New Hope Way, Castle Rock, CO, 80109, in the Castle Rock Room of New Hope Presbyterian Church**. Please arrive by 3:45 p.m. and bring food and/or drink to share. Meetings begin promptly at 4:00 p.m. and are usually followed by breakout discussion groups. As always, we will finish up with a potluck and social hour which ends around 6:30 p.m. Blue jeans and casual attire are welcome.
