We’re pleased to announce that CRUUC will once again support 9 Cares Colorado Shares food drive on Saturday, November 18, 2017 from 7:00 AM until noon. Our assignment will be the new King Soopers store on Promenade in Castle Rock. We will be soliciting food and cash donations which will benefit the Food Bank at the Douglas/Elbert Task Force. In the past our efforts have resulted in donations of about $1,500 plus 2,000 pounds of food! Given the traffic volume in the new King Soopers store, this year’s numbers should be even higher.
We’re hoping you will be able to help with this worthy effort for an hour or so. If you are willing and able, please let Gary Wyngarden know ASAP by replying to firstname.lastname@example.org. And if you have a time preference, please let him know that as well.
Thanks for your support of CRUUC and 9 Cares Colorado Shares
CRUUC Volunteers Norm McQueen, Marnie & John Buckley at Kings Soopers in 2015
As we have done for the past three years, CRUUC will crew a collection station for 9 Cares Colorado Shares on Saturday, November 12, 2016 from 7:00 AM until noon. As in the past, our site will be at the King Soopers on Founders.
What’s involved is soliciting and collecting donations of cash and food, all of which will go to the Food Bank at the Douglas/Elbert Task Force. As you may know, the Task Force assists about 15,000 financially challenged people per year in Douglas and Elbert Counties. Almost 40% of these are children.
So we need 12-14 people to make this happen. Can you help? The time commitment would be for one to two hours. If you’d like to join us, contact Gary Wyngarden with the time slots that work best for you.
The Castle Rock Unitarian Community is volunteering to support 9 Cares/Colorado Shares and the Douglas/Elbert Task Force on Saturday, November 14, 2015 from 7:00 AM until noon at the King Soopers at 100 Founders Parkway in Castle Rock, CO.
We will be soliciting and collecting donations of food and cash that will all benefit the food bank at the Douglas/Elbert Task Force.
During the last three of these food drives, the CRUUC has collected approximately $1500 in cash donations and 2000 pounds of food.
Please join us by volunteering a couple hours of your time. To volunteer, contact Gary Wyngarden.
